Diveagar lies in the coastal Maharashtra i.e. Konkan, a sacred land blessed by Parshuram, the seventh reincarnation of Lord vishnu. Konkan boasts of several forts, temples, pilgrimage centres and offcourse, excellent beaches.
Diveagar, situated in Shrivardhan area of Raigad district, is one of them. It is about 200 km from Mumbai, and about 170 km from Pune. It is gifted with historical background and free from chaos. Diveagar has a clean and safe beach, approx 4 kms long. The beach with crystal clear blue sea water, with no rocks and other obstacles, makes it one of the safest beach and so liked by the tourists.
The small town of Diveagar has a green cover of Coconut and Areca palm trees, amongst which you find small houses. Population of this village is about 5000, having no commercial establishments. It is very clean and neat town, and by now is well known for its hospitality.
In 1997, an idol of Lord Ganesh was found at Diveagar which was in pure gold, about 1.3 kg and was about 1000 years old!
